Date: 2026-02-18 09:23 pm (UTC)I mean... yeah???? Yeah, Baby??? Generally people keep massive fuckin' sums of money in places that are better guarded than a lighthouse that just about anyone can walk into.
[ This is a nightmare. Why the fuck did Zhongli do this? He knows Flins can't manage masses of money, and now Husk is aware of it, he knows this has become his problem. Because someone has to look out for this stupid fuckin' fae and the fates have decreed that person is him. ]
Could you at least keep in in a fuckin' safe if you're gonna Scrooge McDuck it in your basement? Jesus christ, what if the water gets in?
[ He's staring into space. This is his life now. He agreed to this. He loves the stupid fae and in doing so, he has done this to himself. ]
I mean. Shit, Babe. I dunno. Probably?

Date: 2026-02-18 10:43 pm (UTC)[He sounds almost...amused by that. The door isn't the only defense the lighthouse had from the Black Order, after all.
Flins taps the stack of money in his one hand into his other palm in thought. A safe? What safe could possibly hold all this, he wonders. Husk may notice that the stack he's holding is actually quite pristine. No warped edges from water damage, no blemishes of any kind.
Well. There's a reason for that.]
Oh, is preservation the reason for your worry? Fret not.
[Flins drops the stack of money he's holding into a little puddle on the floor. Whoopsies!]
Oh goodness. It seems I have been ever so clumsy and muddied my stack of money. What shall I do?
[He picks up the sopping wet stack, giving it a quick shake...before he holds it up again, and the stack is as good as new.]
My magic lets me rewind a small object's 'aging'. Which includes the dirt and grime it accumulates.

Date: 2026-02-18 11:42 pm (UTC)[ This is not what people do, Flins! He knows you're not human, but still!
And then Flins does his whole pantomime with his money-with putting it in the puddle, and then unwinding all the damage done as if it hadn't happened at all. Husk watches all of this, before letting out a slow breath, folding his arms, finally relenting. ]
You really got an answer for everything, don't you?

Date: 2026-02-18 11:59 pm (UTC)At my age, you'd be surprised how often I'm right on things.
[With the stack of money now dried and properly 'new' again, he takes Husk's hand, turning it over gently to rest it in. His own hand covers the top of it, with their fingertips touching just at the edges.]
You have had a hard life, Husk. Your whole way of life changed overnight. You were dealing with a body both was and wasn't your own. You were taken from your home, your family, forced to chase after the world's most elusive fae.
You lived in fear for so many years. Your kindness saved so many lives.
You...have earned this.
[He leans forward, pressing his lips to Husk's forehead in a little peck.]

Date: 2026-02-20 08:21 pm (UTC)I don't recall telling you that you were right.
[Husk lets Flins put the money into his hand, staring down at it numbly. He might not have still fully processed that this was his. He's never had this much money in his life before. His old one, sure - when he ruled over Hell's gambling circuit, he had money plenty (until he very swiftly didn't). But this life? He was someone born to immigrant parents who were barely clinging on to the breadline, and then he spent the rest of his days in servitude to the Order. Having a vast amount of funds was not something that was ever on the docket.
Besides, even if he did have it, he would have just drunk or gambled it away. Always chasing those highs. The first one isn't a problem anymore... or so he hopes. The second... just maybe might still be. He feels the warmth of Flins' hand, and even more the warmth of his words. Husk doesn't like himself much. He's never seem him as someone worth much of anything. A fact that's permeated two lives. He blinks as Flins puts the little kiss on his forehead, still staring at the money like it's a puzzle he's supposed to solve. ]
Oh.
[ Great start. Fantastic start. He ruffles his feathers a little, displacement activity because he's not sure what to do next. ]
I don't... completely believe that I deserve this, but I know better than to try to argue with you. You're more stubborn than I am. I-
[ An ear pins back, he lefts out a grumbly little sigh. ]
Can you hold onto it for a bit? Til I figure out what to do with it. I don't wanna end up throwing it all away at the casino. [Maybe he can do something nice for the kids. Hm.He finally focuses on Flins again, managing a confused smile. ]
Thank you, Kyryll. I still think you're bugfuck nuts for this, and I want that on record. But still... thanks.

Date: 2026-02-21 06:03 pm (UTC)[That is absolutely not how this works, but alas, who is to argue with a fae who's set his mind on something. He is nothing if not patient, though, waiting for Husk to settle into the idea that he now has money that he is free to use for whatever he'd like. Or not, he certainly wouldn't blame the man for wanting to be frugal even after coming into a lot of money.
His smile doesn't fade as he watches the cat, fingers trailing off that stack of money he'd put into Husk's own palm.]
Of course. There is no safer place than with me. And Husk, do not treat it as if you have to find a use for it. You do not micromanage the money in your wallet, yet? This is just an extension of it.
It is here for whatever you need. Just as I am.

Date: 2026-02-22 07:24 pm (UTC)Oh? Is that what you're calling it?
[ Husk's real worry is just gambling it all away. He's making great strides in wrangling the alcohol issues, but the gambling is a whole different story. That's something so deeply ingrained in him, it became part of his demonic appearance and abilities. The temptation to bet it all is strong. He'd rather it be somewhere out of his way - lessen that desire as much as he can. ]
I'm more worried about pissing it all down the toilet, honestly. I'd rather have a use for it than that. I know for a fact that will only make me feel miserable afterwards.
[ He's well aware of his own vices, and that the highs they give him are extremely fleeting and only end with him feeling even worse after. Best to mitigate that as much as he can. His expression softens at the offer, though.
Well, if anything deserves a proper kiss, it was that. He reaches out to press a hand against Flin's cheek, before leaning up to press a kiss against his lips. ]
Well, I always know that part at least - still, appreciate that, too.
